Hot Spot chantedilly, a popular restaurant on the Mall of America, is facing a lawsuit by a woman who claims the restaurant has discriminated against her in her promotion to a manager.
The lawsuit filed Monday by the woman, who asked that her last name not be published, said that her promotion was delayed because she is black.
She said that she was told by manager that she would not be promoted because she was black.
The manager then asked her if she was going to go to a bar and ordered her to the bar, where she says she was asked to wait for her manager to arrive.
The manager then told the woman she would be promoted, the lawsuit says.
The woman says she did not request a drink because she wanted to be left alone.
The restaurant was among a number of restaurants and bars to receive complaints about the promotion.
The woman says her promotion has been delayed twice and that she will be back at the restaurant to try to get the promotion reinstated.
In February, she received an email saying she would have to wait to be promoted and she said she did so because she has an addiction to drugs and alcohol.
